Frequently Asked Questions

Worship

  • When and where are the services?

We offer three distinct worship services at Main Street United Methodist. Each Sunday service lasts approximately one hour, while our Celebrate Recovery service on Tuesday runs for two hours to allow for small groups. We recommend arriving early so you can spend time getting to know the congregation and our leaders.

SUNDAY

  • 8:30 a.m., The Well - Located in the Fellowship Hall

  • 11:00 a.m., Traditional Worship - Located in the Sanctuary

TUESDAY

  • 6:00 p.m., Celebrate Recovery - Located in the Fellowship Hall

  • Where can I park?

Ample parking is available during both of our Sunday services, as well as Celebrate Recovery on Tuesday evening.

Visitors can feel free to park on Main Street, or in the parking lot located on the west side of the church.

  • What do I do when I get there?

Look for our greeters outside of each of the worship spaces (the Sanctuary and the Fellowship Hall). Our staff and volunteers will then get you acquainted with life at Main Street. They will also be happy to answer any questions you may have about the church, direct you to the nursery or Children's check-in, and introduce you to other members of our congregation.

If you need any additional information, or would like to take a tour of of the church, contact, Manny Elswick, Congregational Care Pastor.

  • What should I wear?

Dress comfortably. You'll feel right at home wearing anything from shorts and a t-shirt, to jeans and a pull over jacket, or even a suit and tie.

  • Where can I get more information about becoming a member of the church?

The only requirement for membership at Main Street is a Christian Baptism and a Profession of Faith in Christ. Main Street recognizes the validity of your previous Christian Baptism. Those who have not received Christian Baptism should contact our Pastor.

Membership at Main Street is a significant commitment to grow as an adult Christian disciple in your prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness. All members make the same vow but we all fulfill them differently. Throughout the year, each member is asked to reflect on where God is leading them and how to better experience grace in worship, grow in grace in groups, and share grace in ministry.

  • How can I stay connected to what's happening?

We would love to share with you the opportunities and events that are coming up in the life of our church. Contact our office to sign up for our newsletter.
